Adam was created in God’s likeness and image. He lived 130 years and fathered a son named Seth. After Seth, Adam had other sons and daughters. In total, Adam lived 930 years, and then he died.

Seth fathered Enosh at the age of 105. Seth lived 807 more years, having other children, and died at 912 years.

Enosh was 90 years old when he fathered Kenan. He lived another 815 years, had other children, and died at 905 years.

Mahalalel fathered Jared at 65. He lived 830 more years, had other children, and died at 895.

### **Enoch to Methuselah (Genesis 5:21–24)**
Enoch fathered Methuselah at 65. He walked faithfully with God for 300 years, having other children.
Enoch walked with God, and he was **taken by God**—he did not die.

### **Methuselah to Lamech (Genesis 5:25–31)**
Methuselah fathered Lamech at 187. He lived 782 more years, had other children, and died at 969.
Lamech fathered Noah at 182, saying, “This one will bring comfort concerning our work and the cursed ground.”
Lamech lived 595 more years and died at 777.
**Reflection:** Noah’s birth is a sign of hope and God’s provision, even in a world under the curse.
